The Ickabog by J.K. Rowling is, to say the least, okay. Maybe it’s because when I hear the name “J.K. Rowling” I think Harry Potter and anything else just isn’t up to par. However, if you’ve never read the amazing Harry Potter series, you might enjoy The Ickabog.
It was slow to start, got a bit better, but just a bit. I rated it a three out of five stars. It wasn’t the worst thing ever written, I just won’t be recommending it to anyone.
On a positive note, the illustrations in the book were fabulous! They were all drawn by children, and let me tell you, I was beyond impressed. I kept showing my husband with enthusiasm, “Look how good this is!” So, if nothing else, you could get The Ickabog to support those young artists.
